Front status LED on VOIP Call Station Flashing

Front status (CALLING and ANSWERED) LED's on VOIP Call Station Flashing

If the front LED's are continuously flashing on a VOIP-500/600 it means the device cannot register to a SIP server, firmware upgrade is in progress  OR the device is in a constant reboot cycle due to not being able to obtain a DHCP IP address.
(VOIP-600 and VOIP-500 Pictured below)
VOIP-600 - Flashing LED's
VOIP-500 - Flashing LED's
The two reasons why these LED's will flash are:
  • The VOIP device is in a constant reboot cycle due to not being able to obtain a DHCP IP Address
  • The VOIP device cannot register with a SIP server
To validate SIP registration issue:
You can validate this by navigating to the Network tab and viewing the SIP Settings and seeing the following status screen:
No registrar.

RESOLUTION:

  • Confirm DHCP is serving IP addresses, confirm if MAC filtering is enabled somewhere or default the VOIP device and assign a static IP address.
  • Validate SIP Server settings and attempt to re-register the device.
