How to install Talk-A-Lert 3.31 on Windows 7 or Newer

The overall version of Talk-A-Lert has not changed from 3.31, but to work on Windows 10  it requires an updated driver for the security dongle.


Linked below are 2 links, the first is the updated security driver file that is needed for the software licensing dongl, and the isntallation files for Talk-A-Lert 3.31.
  1. Download both files.
  1. Extract, then install Sentinel System Driver7.5.8.zip.  Accept the default options.
  2. Extract tal331tal.zip, then execute setup.exe to install
  3. You will encounter the error message shown below.
  4. Click "OK" to close the error message and the install will complete. 


Set all of the executable in c:\Talk-A-Phone\bin to Windows 7 compatibility.
  1. Right click on the executable
  2. Select properties, then the Compatability Tab.
  3. Mark the checkbox labeled "Run this program in compatibility mode for:", and select Windows 7 from the drop-down list.
  4. Click OK.

If restoring the database copy the original DB to C:\Talk-A-Phone\Database\TAlert.db from the old machine.

Run the the update patch with default options.

Launch the application, and login. The initial username is admin, and the password will be created at this first login.
